TROOP 101 CAMPING CHECKLIST
For Weekend Outings
SHELTER
FOOD / COOKING
- Mess Kit (or plate, small bowl), cup/mug, and
one set of Utensils
- Healthy Snacks for Hiking
PERSONAL
- Class A Troop Shirt (required while driving to
and from locations)
- 3 T-shirts (1 should be Troop T-shirt)
- Rain Coat
- 2 pair of Shoes / Boots
- 2 pair of Socks (Wool or Wool Blend provide
warmth & comfort)
- 2 pair of Underwear
- 2 pair of Pants (Zip-off pants work well;
avoid sweats and jeans)
- 1 Belt
- 1 Handkerchief or bandana
- 1 Long sleeve sweatshirt / fleece top
- 1 Jacket to provide 3rd layer over T-shirt and
sweatshirt
- Day Pack or Waist Pack to carry Canteen or
Water Bottles for Hike (2 liters minimum)
- Pocket Knife
- Flashlight & Extra Batteries
- Compass
- Stocking cap (between Nov. 1 and April 1)
- Gloves (between Nov. 1 and April 1)
- Winter/Heavy Coat (between Nov. 1 and April 1)
- 1 Set of Long Underwear (between Nov. 1 and
April 1) -- avoid cotton; poly pro, wool, etc. preferred
- Sleeping clothes
- Basic Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush,
etc.)
- Scout Handbook, small notebook, pen
Note: Troop Leaders must be made aware of all
medication requirements for each trip.
